Purpose of the role

To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks, providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize their productivity and minimize disruptions and handling administrative tasks, and providing market information and research. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities.
  • Coordination of trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Maintenance and updating of trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately.
  • Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
  • Monitoring of market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
  • Operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies.

Join us as a “Macro TSA Analyst” in Macro team at Barclays, which manages specific trade capture and closely related functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  The team helps maintain a high degree of accuracy around trade capture, which is crucial to the firm's risk management and accurate books and records.

To be a successful “Macro TSA Analyst” a candidate will cover quote capture activities with respect to Rates products, including cash (bonds), and derivatives (swaps, options and other derivative products), along with the related governance, analytics, reporting and issue management responsibilities related to quote capture processes. Barclays is an industry leader in Rates products and has risk management hubs across the globe to provide clients best-in-class risk management and execution.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, candidate is expected to exhibit high standards of understanding of risk, be able to think out of the box, has attention to detail and be sound in his/her decision making.

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate quote capture activities, which includes the following:
    • Capturing quotes in Barclays systems to meet regulatory requirements, through continuous engagement with Rates Sales and Trading
    • Query response and issue resolution with respect to captured quotes.
    • Reconciliation of recorded quotes and responsibility for assurance of storage effectiveness and accuracy
    • Reporting, analytics and production of MI
    • Development of subject matter expertise in quote capture activity to act as a primary partner to the business on this key regulatory requirement.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/Finance
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Fluent in English
  • Graduate or MBA from top tier Engineering/Business school Understand the Front to Back lifecycle of a trade and its associated risks to the firm and to clients.
  • Experience in dealing with high volume, time sensitive trade capture environment.
  • Knowledge of Markets (specifically Rates/Macro products)
  • Ability to clearly articulate complicated issues to management and other impacted areas and ensure timely resolution of issues and breaches.
  • Should be comfortable communicating directly with all levels of the organization, including senior management.
  • Highly analytical and numerate with exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong knowledge of Rates Cash and Derivative products.
  • Well organised with good time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks. Ability to multi-task and prioritise accordingly in a highly pressurised environment.
