
Restaurant Host/Hostess, Nobu (Caesars New Orleans)
Job Description
The Restaurant Host/Hostess position is responsible for greeting and seating guest in assigned dining area.
Maintains an upbeat and positive attitude, creates positive energy with gestures and sustains enthusiasm from one interaction to the next.
- Responsible for greeting and seating guest in assigned dining area.
- Provides assistance to both guests and team members when necessary.
- Greets guests upon their arrival and escorts guest party to appropriate table in dining area.
- Maintains order and cleanliness in dining room.
- Reports all complaints to management on duty.
- Ensures that schedules food servers and bus persons are present, chairs and tables are properly positioned and station groupings are assigned to each station.
- Distributes checks and handles comps, food coupons, and Player cards.
- Ensures proper check and cash control procedures are carried out.
- Consistently demonstrates superior customer service skills by displaying outlined service behaviors.
- Creates an atmosphere of luck and celebrates guest’s wins.
- Is ready to serve and is informed of daily information; builds relationships by greeting guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting.
- Anticipates needs and provides fast, flawless service.
- Checks for satisfaction and effectively resolves service breakdowns when they exist.
- Promotes Caesars Rewards programs and card membership.
- Provides a warm farewell and thanks guests for visiting.
- Completes special assignments for management as requested.
Success at Nobu Restaurant is defined by traits like a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a demonstrated history of anticipatory service. Previous experience of at least one year in a high-volume, fine dining establishment is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one year Hostess experience at a fine dining restaurant preferred.
- Ability to read and write English sufficiently to perform job.
- Consistently displays extraordinary service with an upbeat and positive attitude.
- Some knowledge of food service.

- Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors.

- Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required
- Ability to move throughout the outlet (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
