Job Description
Key job responsibilities
- Maintain floor presence during shift in assigned production area, including attendance at daily Tier 1 meetings
- Serve as the first resource for build technicians to clarify build processes, disposition potential nonconformances (NCs), and provide build process feedback
- Complete ME Inspections and Buyoffs as required on production builds in a timely manner
- Disposition NCs using the FLS disposition guide; escalate novel or complex NCs to Process MEs and partner teams
- Follow proper NC writing techniques to enable quick approvals and aid data collection
- Inspect rework against NC dispositions to ensure conditions are met
- Audit and observe builds in progress to ensure work is completed per work instructions
- Coach technicians on proper execution when discrepancies arise
- Create visual aids and shop aids for the production line when appropriate
- Provide feedback on WOT updates ready for implementation
- Propose design change requests to improve manufacturing or reduce cost
- Support continuous improvement activities including GSE projects, shop aids, and Kaizen events
- Work with Production Shift Leadership to prioritize and support deliveries for the day
The Front Line Support Manufacturing Engineer (FLS ME) provides real-time engineering support on the production floor. This role is responsible for enabling the completion of production hardware through
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings, or experience in electrical or mechanical engineering
- - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
- - Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- - Broad knowledge of fundamental manufacturing engineering and quality concepts
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or experience in similar environments
- 2+ years experience as a manufacturing engineer
- Experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with non-conformance management systems and disposition processes
- Knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100, ISO 9001)
- Experience with MES, SAP, or similar manufacturing execution systems
- 3D design (NX) and prototyping skills (for job aids)
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
