Job Description:
The Pharmacist Specialist serves as a specialist in a selected area of pharmaceutical care with the goal being the safe, efficacious, and cost-effective use of drugs and information to achieve outcomes that improve patient quality of life.
Our pharmacy greatly values patient experience and provides thorough medication education and patient consultations. As a teaching hospital, our pharmacists have exceptional opportunities to interact and help develop pharmacy students as they pursue their education.
**This position will float to other Aspirus locations: Aspirus Iron River Hospital and Aspirus Ironwood - MILAGE PAID.
Hours: Day Shift, Monday – Friday between 7:45am-7:30pm, and Saturday 8:45am-4:30am
Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge of pharmaceutical standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s or Doctorate Degree in pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Current Pharmacist License: MI
A minimum of three years’ experience desired in outpatient pharmacy or health system pharmacy practice to enhance and develop skills.
Knowledge of medication therapy management is beneficial.
Experience with Epic, beneficial.
Knowledge of or experience with Meds to Beds, beneficial.
Developed communication skills for patient consultations.
Membership in the American Pharmacists Associate (APhA)
