Education
- Required Bachelor's Degree in related field; or equivalent work experience
- Preferred Master's Degree in Political Science, Public Health, Public Policy or related field; or equivalent work experience
- Required 10+ Years experience in health care policy and analysis with an emphasis in managed care and/or health insurance
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of managed care and insurance reform issues, operations and policy, as well as knowledge of the federal legislative and regulatory processes.
- Strategic thinking and communication to influence and impact policy.
- Superior facilitation, presentation, organizational and verbal and written skills, with the demonstrated ability to work independently
- Analytical, planning and project management skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and shift multiple issues and projects without compromising quality results
Extra Posting Information:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Medicare policy and analysis, health insurance policy, and legislative and regulatory policy development - Deep expertise in Medicare Advantage, including Medicare Advantage payment policies and risk adjustment, supplemental benefits and dual- eligible populations, as well as broader Medicare payment and policy issues - Strong legislative and regulatory development skills, applying sound judgment and rigorous analytical methodologies - Highly skilled and experienced with drafting and submitting comments to Congress, federal agencies, and other legislative bodies, writing issue and policy briefs, talking points, and developing detailed legislative and regulatory analyses and slide presentations - Ability to translate complex regulatory and legislative developments into actionable strategies aligned with organizational priorities - Experience working across departments (e.g., advocacy, public affairs, communications) to ensure cohesive policy messaging and execution - Ability to communicate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively - Skilled in identifying emerging issues and mobilizing internal resources to respond effectively - Proven ability to navigate dynamic environments, set and achieve objectives in evolving internal and external landscapes, and adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on long-term goals - Experience presenting and representing an organization in public forums, panels, and stakeholder convenings - Highly skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
The posted salary range is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and this hiring range may also be modified in the future. A candidate’s position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.
