Overview
The Business Solutions Group (BSG) team sits within Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Securities Group (ISG) and functions as an in-house management consulting team supporting the firm with strategic program management and delivery, large-scale transformation, operational improvement, and regulatory change or remediation. The team partners with individual business lines, Legal/Risk/Compliance, and senior firm leadership to drive initiatives to completion.
This role will play a foundational part in delivering high-impact engagements while combining advisory consulting, program delivery, and data-driven analytics capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
As a key member of the BSG team, this individual will work in cross-functional agile teams alongside various business stakeholders (e.g. business, technology, operations, risk and finance) to innovate and consult on developing new or enhancing existing technologies. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and industry experts to design and deliver high performance data frameworks and technical platforms that power advanced analytics engagements and solutions.
Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
Advisory, Program Delivery & Consulting
Support high quality, multi-workstream consulting engagements within ISG including front office, risk, finance, operations and technology
Provide program management and delivery support, including planning, execution, readiness, and governance across cross-functional teams
Partner with stakeholders to define problems, diagnose issues, and develop actionable, sustainable solutions
Manage project plans, track risks and issues, and report progress against milestones and benefits
Support change management, process improvements, control, and governance initiatives
Assist in preparing presentations, reporting materials, and updates for senior management
Track and analyze engagement performance, including budgets, staffing, and key metrics
Collaborate with business, technology, operations, finance, and risk teams to deliver integrated solutions
Build strong stakeholder relationships and operate effectively across all levels of the organization
Promote a collaborative, high-performance team culture
Data & Analytics
Design and deliver analytics solutions, including dashboards, automation tools, and data-driven frameworks to support decision-making
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance data platforms and technology solutions
Perform analysis on financial and operational datasets to identify insights and efficiency opportunities
Build, support, and scale data pipelines and frameworks across structured and unstructured data environments
Leverage visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to communicate insights effectively
Support advanced analytics initiatives including machine learning and emerging technologies (e.g., LLMs, automation workflows)
Skills Required:
Strong consulting and program delivery experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Strong data analytics experience, including ability to leverage data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
Experience with machine learning models, LLM, agentic workflows and RAG implementation
Proven ability to manage delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives
Understanding of data engineering concepts (data pipelines, structured/unstructured data)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Proven experience developing partnerships with and successfully coordinating across various business and functional stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and tailor messages appropriately
Strong presentation skills, including ability to create polished PowerPoint presentations for various levels of management
Independent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines
Eagerness to learn business and understand detailed technical requirements
Qualifications
3-7 years of experience in management consulting, strategy, transformation, or related roles
Ability to manipulate and do computations on financial data sets using a programming language such as Python, R or similar languages
Experience in financial services, ideally within sales & trading, investment banking, or wealth management
Experience in program management, product development, or transformation initiatives
Experience building or scaling an internal consulting, strategy, PMO or transformation function
Project management, product development, business management, or management consulting in the financial services industry, ideally Wealth Management
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (business, finance, engineering, or related field)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
