- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Data & AI Product Owner in Virginia Beach, VA.
- This role is Hybrid.
- The Data & AI Product Owner supports Valkyrie’s Data & AI initiatives by helping ensure technical efforts remain aligned to business needs, operational priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- This role is responsible for managing the product backlog, prioritization process, roadmap coordination, and stakeholder engagement activities for Data & AI capabilities across the organization.
- The Data & AI Product Owner serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping translate business needs into structured, actionable work that supports successful delivery and adoption.
- The role focuses on supporting delivery teams and stakeholders by providing structure, prioritization,and coordination across data, reporting, automation, and AI initiatives.
- This position works closely with IT Services and stakeholders across the enterprise to support the successful planning, delivery, adoption, and ongoing improvement of Data & AI solutions.
- The Data & AI Product Owner is responsible for managing the Data & AI backlog, supporting roadmap execution, facilitating prioritization activities, and coordinating stakeholder engagement.
- Support development and maintenance of product roadmaps across data platform, reporting, automation, and AI initiatives.
- Translate business needs into structured epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, release plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Facilitate prioritization discussions, sequencing activities, and tradeoff analysis among stakeholders and technical teams.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, release coordination, and launch readiness activities.
- Support adoption of delivered capabilities through communication, training coordination, user feedback collection, and stakeholder engagement.
- Partner with engineering and technical leads to ensure delivery efforts remain focused on business value, operational efficiency, and measurable impact.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify workflow inefficiencies, automation opportunities,reporting gaps, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Track adoption metrics, product effectiveness, and realized business value following solution deployment.
- Communicate roadmap updates, delivery status, risks, and prioritization decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continued development of product management practices and delivery processes within the Data & AI function.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field and at least of five 5 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, project coordination, or related roles supporting software, data, analytics, or platform initiatives.
- Must demonstrate experience managing backlogs, prioritization activities, stakeholder engagement, and translating business requirements into actionable user stories, requirements, and delivery plans.
- Must have experience supporting Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story development, and iterative delivery methodologies.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Must demonstrate the ability to facilitate collaboration, manage competing priorities, and support organizational decision-making across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Must be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience supporting data platform, analytics, AI/ML-enabled, or enterprise automation initiatives, including familiarity with platforms such as Azure and Snowflake, preferred.
- Experience working in a defense contractor, government, or regulated compliance environment, preferred.
- Experience supporting operational, financial, workforce, or workflow-intensive business environments, preferred.
- Experience working in a defense contractor, government, or regulated compliance environment, preferred.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile/product management certification, preferred.
- Experience helping establish, mature, or scale a new technical or operational capability within an organization, preferred.
- Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Must comply with all Valkyrie Enterprises security policies and procedures.
- Travel may be required on an as-needed basis to support stakeholder engagement, workshops, project coordination, or key business initiatives.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000 per year
