Job Description

Position Summary

The Home Shopping Department Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the online shopping and fulfillment operation, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely order completion while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role drives sales growth, manages labor and productivity, and ensures high standards for order quality, food safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Operations
    • Oversee daily home shopping operations, including order picking, staging, and customer pickup/delivery coordination
    • Ensure all online orders are completed accurately, on time, and according to company standards
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace for staging and fulfillment
  • Customer Service Excellence
    • Deliver a seamless and positive customer experience for all online orders
    • Resolve customer issues, substitutions, and concerns promptly and professionally
    • Ensure clear communication with customers regarding order status and changes
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise home shopping associates
    • Monitor productivity and performance to meet fulfillment goals
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to build a strong, engaged team
  • Sales & Performance
    • Drive growth in online sales through strong execution and service
    • Monitor key performance metrics such as order accuracy, fulfillment time, and customer satisfaction
    • Adjust staffing and workflows based on order volume and business needs
  • Order Accuracy & Quality Control
    • Ensure proper product selection, substitutions, and handling of perishable items
    • Maintain high standards for product freshness, packaging, and presentation
    • Verify order accuracy before customer pickup or delivery
  • Inventory & Coordination
    • Partner with store departments to ensure product availability and minimize out-of-stocks
    • Communicate inventory gaps and high-demand items to leadership
    • Support proper product rotation and handling practices
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
    • Maintain compliance with company policies and online shopping procedures
    • Ensure safe handling of all products during picking and staging
Qualifications
  • Previous retail, grocery, or e-commerce fulfillment experience required
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
