Compensation: £13.45 / hour

Description

Rookery Radstock are looking for a Maintenance Person to join them on a part-time basis, working 12 hours per week.

The role will be part-time (2 x 6-hour shifts)

Located in Radstock, Somerset, Priory Radstock provides residential support to 11 autistic adults in a welcoming, supportive environment. The home benefits from excellent transport links, with bus stops directly outside in both directions and a train station accessible within 30 minutes by bus. 


What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here. 
  • The position requires physical stamina, though it is typically based in a comfortable and stable work environment
  • The problems faced by clients may present difficult and challenging situations, which may heighten the sensory and emotional demands of the job.
  • All Priory colleagues have a responsibility to safeguard the individuals we care for, these may be adults and children or individuals connected to the people Priory supports.
  • Colleagues must ensure they are aware of the local child and adult safeguarding policies and procedures in their service, in addition who to contact within the Local Authority Safeguarding Team for further advice.

What you'll bring to the role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Experience and understanding in a building, plumbing, mechanical or electrical discipline desirable Role holder may respond to routine enquiries. More complex issues will be referred to the line manager.
