Job Description
Founders Factory builds and funds startups together with exceptional entrepreneurs and the world's leading companies. Since 2015, Founders Factory’s 450+ portfolio companies have secured 500+ pilots and commercial contracts with our partners.
Our Studio partners with entrepreneurs at day one, developing new ideas, technologies and business models into high-growth companies. In partnership with a leading global industrial healthcare partner, we are building a new portfolio of healthcare ventures.
About the Venture
Healthcare is leaving the hospital. 120 million people are forcibly displaced globally. The NHS has 7.8 million patients on elective waiting lists. Climate, conflict, and capacity strain are structural and every major health system now plans for surge, mobile, and community-based delivery.
The hardware to deploy clinical capacity exists: containers, generators, monitors. What does not exist is the operating system that connects them. Field hospitals today are assembled, not operated. No shared patient record across pods. No theatre-level view for clinical leads. No learning loop across deployments.
We are building the sovereign, open-standard alternative: a software layer that makes a distributed clinical network behave like one system. Deploy any site in under four hours. Sense every device, every environmental condition, every energy draw. Orchestrate patient, pod, and theatre views in a single operating layer. Learn from every deployment to compound the dataset no one else has.

Jobs to be Done
As Founder & CEO, you will be responsible for turning a strong thesis into a scaled, defensible business.
Define the wedge. Decide whether v1 leads with defence, civilian surge, or humanitarian — and which geography, buyer, and procurement channel you attack first.
Build the operating system. Turn ClinicalOS from concept into a working prototype that ingests live data from real devices and renders patient, pod, and theatre views.
Win the first customer. Secure a lighthouse deployment — whether a NATO Role 2E pilot, an NHS mobile unit, or a humanitarian pre-positioning deal.
Navigate dual-use. Build a product and a company that serves both defence and civilian buyers without being locked into either.
Leverage Partner IP. Work with our partners’ sensor, BMS, SOFC, and diagnostics teams to integrate the hardware stack, without letting hardware distract from shipping software.
Raise capital. Build the narrative, assemble the advisory board, and close a Seed round in a market where defence-tech capital is moving fast.
Your Ideal Experience
We are not looking for a traditional healthcare executive or a pure AI researcher. The ideal candidate sits at the intersection.
Founder or senior operator who has built a platform or infrastructure product from zero to one — ideally in defence, health-tech, industrial IoT, or logistics.
Deep familiarity with at least one buyer segment: defence medical, humanitarian operations, or NHS / European health system procurement.
Strong product and technical instincts: you can reason about edge computing, device orchestration, and data architecture even if you are not writing the code yourself.
Experience selling into complex, multi-stakeholder procurement environments — governments, militaries, or large health systems.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity: shaping the product, defining the buyer, and making irreversible calls with incomplete data.
Credibility with both conservative defence/health buyers and forward-looking venture investors.
Most importantly, you are motivated by category creation — building the operating system for healthcare beyond the hospital, before someone else does.
This is your company. We're here to help.
