Position Summary
Oversees all aspects of pupil and special needs transportation programs, including operational management, strategic planning, staff training, curriculum development, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Provides leadership and guidance to a team, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
Essential Job Duties
- Manages departmental personnel, including supervisors and assistant supervisors, to ensure effective
operations within the school district's transportation services.
• Oversees the emergency school closure transportation program and assists with its implementation to
maintain continuity of services.
• Works on issues requiring the analysis of data and a variety of relevant factors to resolve.
• Identifies and resolves operational issues that may fall outside of established guidelines as they arise;
recommends process improvements where needed based on sound project workflow principles.
• Monitors bus drivers' performance and analyzes data relevant to their operations to ensure the safe
transport of students.
• Makes day-to-day decisions aimed at maintaining and improving transportation services while resolving
operational issues promptly.
• Creates, maintains, and enforces operational procedures and safety protocols for all transportation-related
activities.
• Supervises staff performance by providing guidance, evaluating their work, and implementing disciplinary
actions as necessary.
• Works collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness
of transportation services offered by the school district.
• Handles general administrative duties related to transportation management while ensuring compliance
with all applicable regulations.
• Interacts with subordinates, supervisors, and functional peer groups to interpret and explain information as
necessary.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related
field preferred.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience will be considered.

• Ability to lead a team and provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies
