Area Supervisor, Patient Service Centres – 18 Month Contract (Durham & Kawartha Lakes Region – On-site)

  Position Summary:We’re looking for a dedicated and hands-on Area Supervisor to lead multiple Patient Service Centres across Bowmanville, Oshawa, Lindsay, and Whitby. This is an 18 month contract role, and the supervisor will be onsite at the PSCs five days per week, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of assigned sites while fostering a positive and productive environment for employees and patients alike.   This role requires regular travel between Patient Service Centre locations. Candidates must have a valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.   You’ll be responsible for managing staff, workflow, resources, and occupational health and safety, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures. This role also plays a key part in supporting quality initiatives, guiding teams to deliver exceptional service, and building strong relationships with employees, patients, and Union representatives. Vacancy status: This posting is for an existing position.   What You’ll Do:As an Area Supervisor, you will: Lead daily operations and teams: Oversee staff, workflow, scheduling, and resources to ensure operational efficiency, while monitoring key metrics (PWT, Productivity, NPS) and conducting site-level reviews. Drive service excellence: Develop and coach your team to deliver exceptional patient and customer service, support phlebotomy activities as needed, and resolve escalated client concerns. Support quality and compliance: Prepare for and participate in accreditation audits (IQMH/DAP), investigate non-conforming events, and provide guidance on corrective actions. Manage employee lifecycle and engagement: Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, coaching, discipline, and terminations, while supporting benefits and return-to-work processes. Partner with HR and Unions: Collaborate with HR and local Union representatives on employee matters, grievances, and process improvements, fostering positive working relationships. Oversee site administration: Manage materials, supply levels, expenses, work orders, janitorial contracts, uniforms, and incident logs to ensure smooth operations. Participate in projects and initiatives: Deliver training, support operational improvements, and contribute to team or site-level projects as needed.   What You'll Bring: 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and site operations. High school diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset. Phlebotomy skills, Home Care, and/or Data Sort experience. Knowledge of PSC functions and administrative processes. Supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain operational standards and deliver consistency across multiple sites. Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle, with the ability to travel regularly between Bowmanville, Oshawa, Lindsay, and Whitby.
