Track Worker/ Equipment Operator
Job Description
Trackman / Administrative Assistant
Location: Mulberry, FL
Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Travel: Up to 15% Travel as Needed
A Day in the Life
As a Trackman / Administrative Assistant with Road & Rail Services, you'll split your time between supporting office operations and assisting with field activities. Some days you'll be processing payroll, helping onboard new employees, maintaining records, and supporting managers with administrative tasks. Other days may involve spending time outdoors around active rail operations, assisting with field documentation, supporting crews, conducting site visits, or helping keep projects organized and moving forward.
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety and doesn't want to spend every day doing the same thing. You'll need to be comfortable working on a computer, communicating with employees and supervisors, and stepping into outdoor environments when needed. Travel may be required to support projects and operations at various locations.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with occasional field support. Strong computer skills are important, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities throughout the day.
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous administrative or office experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer applications
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel as needed and work both indoors and outdoors
Experience with ADP payroll processing, employee onboarding, and personnel record management is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable learning new systems, maintaining confidential information, and communicating professionally with employees at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is someone who can move from processing payroll in the office to putting on PPE and assisting with field-related tasks when needed.
What You'll Do
This position plays an important role in supporting both the administrative and operational sides of the business. Responsibilities include processing payroll, assisting with onboarding and new hire paperwork, maintaining employee records, performing data entry, preparing reports, and helping ensure compliance documentation is accurate and up to date.
In addition to office responsibilities, this role may occasionally assist with operational support activities in the field. Candidates should be comfortable working around active rail operations, following all safety policies, and supporting the needs of the site as business demands change.
