Apprentice Field Service Engineer – All BLM Product Range

Role Purpose This apprenticeship provides an opportunity to develop into a highly skilled Field Service Engineer supporting the full BLM product range, including laser tube cutting systems, flat sheet laser machines, production sawing machines, tube bending, wire bending, and end-forming solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers, the Apprentice Field Service Engineer will develop the technical and customer-facing skills required to support advanced CNC machinery valued between £100k and £2.5 million. The role is designed to build deep product knowledge, strong problem-solving ability, and long-term career progression within the BLM engineering organisation. Key Responsibilities With training, mentoring, and hands-on experience, you will progressively learn to: Assist with fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair across the full BLM machine portfolio Support new machine installations, commissioning, and acceptance testing Participate in customer operator and maintenance training Carry out planned maintenance visits under supervision Provide after-sales and application support to customers Build trusted relationships with customers through professional service delivery Liaise with senior engineers, technical support, and factory teams on technical matters Provide structured feedback to support product improvement and development
