Job Description
JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE
The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, providing guidance and support on a wide range of human resources matters. This role partners with HR leadership to address employee relations concerns, performance management, policy interpretation, talent initiatives, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Generalist ensures consistent application of HR practices while promoting a positive employee experience and supporting business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices
Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance concerns, workplace conduct, and conflict resolution
Conduct workplace investigations related to employee complaints, policy violations, and other employment-related concerns. Document investigations, findings, and recommendations while maintaining confidentiality
Support leaders through performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
Monitor performance management activities to ensure consistency and compliance
Assist with onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a positive employee experience
Support employee development and training programs
Maintain accurate employee records and documentation through data entry across HR systems
Support audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives
Build effective relationships with leaders and employees across assigned business units
Support employee engagement programs and culture-building activities
Participate in HR initiatives and special projects related to employee experience, talent management, organizational development, and process improvement
Assist with implementation of HR programs and systems
Serve as liaison between HR and business owners for the execution of annual HR processes such as performance reviews, and compensation planning
Performs audits of data to ensure that all information is correct in the systems
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience
5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience
Experience conducting employee relations and workplace investigations
Experience advising managers on performance management and employee development
Experience supporting multiple business units or locations required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Excellent employee relations and conflict resolution skills
Ability to conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations
Knowledge of HR processes
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills
Ability to build credibility and trust with employees and leaders
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
Occasional travel may be required 10% or less
Ability to attend meetings and training sessions at various company locations
