Parts Back Counterperson Job Responsibilities

• Assist service technicians by identifying, sourcing, and supplying the correct parts
• Accurately process parts requests, invoices, and repair orders
• Maintain proper inventory control and organization
• Coordinate parts availability and special orders
• Handle returns, shortages, and warranty parts as needed
• Communicate clearly with service advisors and technicians
• Follow dealership procedures and manufacturer guidelines

Parts Back Counterperson Compensation and Benefits

The Parts Counter Sales Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. 

• Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $25.00 and $37.00. 

The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit

Parts Back Counterperson Qualifications

• Automotive parts experience preferred (dealer experience a plus)
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts and catalogs
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with DMS systems preferred
• Reliable, professional, and customer‑focused

Corporate Hiring Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
