- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with client construction and field management teams.
- Lead site mobilization and demobilization activities, ensuring efficient startup and closeout of projects.
- Interpret project schedules and manage daily construction activities to meet key milestones and deadlines.
- Review and interpret Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and provide technical guidance to Foremen and crews.
- Mentor and support Foremen to drive productivity, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Manage on-site Requests for Information (RFIs) and support change order processes.
- Maintain accurate site as-built drawings and documentation.
- Coordinate and manage on-site material procurement, consumables, and logistics.
- Oversee labour, equipment, and subcontractors, including performance management and resolution of on-site issues or disputes.
- Review Foremen daily reports to ensure accuracy and proactively address concerns.
- Develop and deliver weekly construction updates to the project management team, including:
- Resource allocation
- Completed and upcoming work
- Risks, delays, and constraints
- Material and consumable requirements
- Communicate project risks and site needs to the Construction Manager, including resourcing, site services, and materials.
- Uphold Aecon’s safety culture by enforcing safe work practices and ensuring compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Minimum 5+ years of substation field experience, including 3+ years in a Foreman or supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience in:

Foundation installation in line with engineered specifications

Conduit installation and routing within substation environments

Ground grid installation and grounding systems

Precast trench installation and site integration
-
Cable tray installation for structured cable management

Structural steel installation and alignment
-
Apparatus installation and equipment setting

Bus work installation with proper clearances and fit-up
-
Low-voltage cable installation, termination, and wiring

Experience working in brownfield environments, including protection grounding.

Experience with substation energization and commissioning/start-up activities.

Demonstrated experience in dispute resolution and claims management.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment.

Strong technical expertise with the ability to support and guide field teams.
