Job Description
👋 About Us
sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.
About the Role
This isn't a support role. You own it end-to-end.
From the first intake call to the signed offer, you'll drive full-cycle recruitment across all functions (Sales, Operations, Tech and beyond). You'll work directly with our hiring managers and the People team to understand what we need, move fast, and bring the right people in.
You'll also help us raise the bar on how we hire, shaping the candidate experience, building pipelines, and making sure every touchpoint with sunday feels intentional.
Contract options:
Freelance mission: starting July 2026, renewable based on business needs
CDD (6 months): starting June or July 2026, based in France (Paris)
Key Responsibilities
• Drive volume and recruitment quality across a multi-site scope (France, UK, US), being flexible when it comes to time zones and candidate availability, as you'll be working across several markets and functions.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles (sales, operations, tech, etc.), from drafting job descriptions and sourcing candidates to interviewing, negotiating offers, and onboarding.
• Source proactively: use creative channels (LinkedIn, job boards, networking events, universities, etc.) to build a strong pipeline of candidates, especially for hard-to-fill roles.
• Optimize and improve recruiting processes to make them efficient and candidate-friendly, introduce best practices, tools, and metrics (time-to-hire, funnel conversion rates) to continuously improve.
• Partner with hiring managers as a trusted advisor: help define role requirements, provide market insights, and guide them through effective and unbiased interviewing and selection. Coach hiring managers to interview better, align faster, and hire smarter.
• Champion the candidate experience, ensure every candidate, whether hired or not, has a positive impression of sunday through timely communication and a personal touch.
• Lay the foundation for a growing team: document processes, mentor hiring interviewers, and be prepared to help onboard future recruiting team members as the company expands.
About You
Must-haves:
3+ years of experience in talent acquisition/recruiting, preferably in startups or high-growth companies, where you have hired for a variety of roles and levels.
Entrepreneurial mindset, you're a self-starter who can build things from scratch, adapt on the fly, and thrive with autonomy and ambiguity.
Proven track record in sourcing and hiring great talent: you know how to hunt for exceptional candidates beyond just posting ads, and you have a network of contacts in Europe and/or the United States.
Excellent communication and people skills, you can pitch our vision to candidates, negotiate skillfully, and build trust with hiring managers and team members.
Fluent in English (our company's working language); French proficiency is a strong plus for local hiring.
For the freelance option: valid freelance/auto-entrepreneur status (or equivalent) and ability to invoice independently.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with ATS tools and recruitment analytics.
Process improvement mindset, you use data and feedback to refine your approach.
Passionate about sunday's mission, you love the idea of revolutionizing the restaurant payment experience.
What will set you apart:
You are proactively curious: you surface insights before anyone asks
You are comfortable with ambiguity and can make decisions with imperfect data
You think 80/20: you cut to what matters and deliver fast, without compromising on rigor
You challenge constructively: you ask the right questions, including the hard ones
You are fluent in both French and English
