The Senior Machining Process Engineer provides technical and production support, process development, and optimization across Aerospace and Industrial gas turbine programs. This role spans NPI, Repair, and OEM operations — leading project teams to deliver new designs, repairs, and processes while driving measurable business impact through Lean methodologies.
What You'll Do
Write and prove out CNC programs (3-, 4-, 5-axis mills, lathes, mill/turn, EDM) from drawings or CAD models
Design or direct fixture and tooling solutions that make programs production-ready
Drive first-article validation and troubleshoot the inevitable hiccups during production transfer
Optimize existing programs — cut cycle times, extend tool life, tighten precision
Own process documentation and program control; the shop runs on approved, current files
Support daily floor meetings and protect customer delivery dates
Model components in 3D for programming and fixture design
Present work clearly to anyone from machinists to executives
Develop junior engineers and technical staff
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering — or an AAS in Machining/Machine Tool Technology with relevant CNC or machining certifications.
7+ years in Aerospace or Power Generation
Strong CNC programming chops — Mastercam and Siemens NX preferred
Preferred knowledge of aerospace materials (nickel, titanium, stainless, aluminum) and how to machine them
Hands-on with CMM, laser/white-light scanning, and precision gaging
Solid GD&T and drawing interpretation skills
Familiarity with airfoil manufacturing end-to-end — casting through inspection
FANUC/Siemens controls, macro programming, and probing experience: a real plus
FAA PMA and RS-DER knowledge is a plus
