Field Service Technician

Job Description

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform refurbishing, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment installation at customer facilities and in-house.
     
  • Provide technical support to customers, both onsite and remotely as needed.
     
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement corrective action.
     
  • Assist in processing repair and service quotes and orders.
     
  • Conduct follow-up with customers regarding service quotes and repairs.
     
  • Support the Repair & Service Manager and administrative team as needed.
     
  • Comply with all policies outlined in the Advanced Machine & Engineering or Hennig, Inc. Quality Manual, Procedures, and Work Instructions.
     
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Travel Requirements (Critical Component of Role)

  • Approximately 80% travel required nationwide.
     
  • Initial training will take place at the home base facility for 2–4 months before independent travel assignments.
     
  • 20% road service incentive provided for overnight travel assignments.
     
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice when required.
     

 

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
     

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
     
  • Sheet metal experience is helpful.
     
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
     

Skills

  • Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability preferred.
     
  • Ability to read measuring instruments and apply basic mathematical skills.
     
  • Strong organizational skills.
     
  • Effective communication skills for customer interaction.
     

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
     
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach overhead, and push/pull as required.
     
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read measuring instruments (with accommodation if required).
     
  • Ability to monitor equipment sounds to identify mechanical changes.
     
  • Exposure to moving parts, industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, oils, cutting fluids, fumes, dust, and mist.
