Position Summary
- Responsible for assisting with supervising and coordinating operations in neurodiagnostic departments.
- Responsible for performing EEG, EMG and intraoperative nerve monitoring.,

Education
- High School Diploma Required
- Associated degree preferred
Licenses and Certification
- BLS
- EEG certification - R. EEG T (Preferred)
- IONM certification - CNIM (Preferred)
- Must obtain R. EEG T. certification within 2 years of hire
- Must obtain IONM certification within 2 years of hire
Experience and Skills
- Technical Experience: 1 year
- Supervisory Experience: 1 year
- EEG experience preferred
- EMG experience preferred
- IONM experience preferred
Physical Activities
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Evaluates effectiveness of unit/department-based programs and processes to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Coordinates departmental orientation, training and teaching activities of new employees.
- Coordinates workflow to utilize personnel effectively.
- Coordinates competency activities within department including initial training and annual competency, as required by SIH and accrediting organization.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for neurodiagnostic procedures, processes and instruments.
- Instructs and prepares patients for EEG tests.
- Performs EEG procedures and processes studies.
- Provides necessary readings and makes a record of readings for review
- Maintains EEG/IOM equipment, electrodes, supplies, documentation and charging responsibilities.
- Completes documenting and charging responsibilities, report process
- Provides neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring in the OR, primary tech in set-up and technical support to other technicians.
- Reports results to the physician for interpretation, trouble shooting, monitoring and provides basic maintenance to the equipment.
- Performs Intraoperative Monitoring.
- Assists the physician in performing standard and complex Nerve Conduction and EMG procedures.
- Recognizes clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results.
- Reviews literature and attends educational meetings for the latest accepted practices and electrical safety relevant to equipment and testing.
- Maintains continuing education requirements earned through ASET, ASNM, ABRET or ACNS
- Establishes policies and procedures according to established standards of practice and participates in tutoring, demonstrating and mentoring other team members.
- Serves as liaison for Neurodiagnostic EEG staff activities including training, team building, process improvement initiatives, and problem resolution; elevating to manager as needed.
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
