Job Description
Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel) opportunity in Burlington, Vermont. Start date 07/13/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay range: $2,595 to $2,818 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift pattern is 3x12 rotating days and evenings. Setting is a hospital operating room environment, with OR-specific responsibilities and team coordination required.

Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate across the General OR, including orthopedics, trauma, vascular, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, laparoscopy, thoracic, and related cases; must be able to scrub all general OR cases and most specialties, with strong ortho capability
- Maintain sterile technique, instrument counts, and immediate safety for patients and staff; assist anesthesia and surgical teams as needed
- Manage intraoperative documentation and communication in the EPIC EMR system, with EPIC experience within the past 2 years
- Support preoperative setup, sterile preparation, patient positioning, equipment readiness, and post-procedure turnover
- Adhere to unit policies, infection prevention standards, and patient confidentiality; participate in on-call requirements and rotating schedule
- Attend to call obligations: one weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call in each four-week schedule block; flexibility with the schedule to meet unit needs
- Prepare for the OR environment by carrying circulation and scrub checklists as part of the onboarding packet
Requirements
- Active RN license appropriate for the assignment jurisdiction (Vermont) or be eligible for travel licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 2 years OR RN experience; strong in orthopedics
- Experience in a large Level I trauma center (500+ beds) preferred
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Circulate and scrub capabilities across all general OR cases; scrub skills required for ortho and multiple other specialties; CVOR cases not required
- Prior travel experience required
- Must have reliable transportation and flexibility with the rotating day/evening schedule
