You will act as a technical partner to operations teams, supporting major mechanical interventions and troubleshooting critical equipment. This position will drive mechanical reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and strengthen Boralex’s long-term operational autonomy and asset performance.
⚡ You will play an important role in:
Mechanical Reliability and Technical Expertise
Perform advanced inspections of wind turbine mechanical components (gearboxes, main bearings, drivetrains, yaw and pitch systems).
Analyze equipment condition and performance trends to identify failure modes and degradation patterns.
Provide technical recommendations and repair strategies based on asset conditions, OEM guidance, and operational constraints.
Validate the performance, integrity, and compliance of critical mechanical components following major interventions or failures.
Maintenance Execution and Fields Operations
Plan, coordinate and supervise major mechanical maintenance activities, including components replacements
Support field teams, contractors or OEM during complex or high-risk interventions, ensuring proper execution methods, tooling, and safety practices.
Optimize preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to improve reliability and reduce downtime
Documentation, Standardization & Best Practices
Develop and improve inspection procedures, maintenance strategies, and technical documentation.
Contribute to the standardization of mechanical O&M practices across our North American assets.
Technical Support
Participate in mechanical upgrade and optimization projects, including component retrofits, reliability programs, and assist with commissioning and quality control.
Support engineering reviews and provide technical input on modifications, retrofits, and new solutions.
Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Lead or support failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for mechanical incidents.
Identify recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective actions and reliability improvements.
Contribute to performance optimization initiatives, including availability, production, and component lifecycle extension.
Capture and disseminate lessons learned across sites to improve fleet-wide performance.
💡 To succeed in this position, you need:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum 5+ years of experience in wind turbine operations and maintenance (O&M)
Strong understanding of wind turbine mechanical systems
Practical knowledge of failure modes and degradation mechanisms affecting rotating equipment and experience validating equipment integrity
Ability to interpret inspection results, condition monitoring data, and OEM documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability including participation in failure investigations or RCA
Experience supporting field operations and site interventions
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-site operational environment
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to field teams
