Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., weekends as needed.
The Supervisor of the Cytopathology Lab at Loyola University Medical Center directs the daily operations of the cytopathology lab sections to effectively utilize resources including staff, equipment, space and supplies and meet the needs of internal and external customers of the given laboratory section.
What you will do:
- Prepares work schedules and monitors staff productivity to effectively utilize personnel and adhere to established turnaround times.
- Reviews daily work to identify potential technical and/or clerical errors and facilitate the timely correction of results when necessary.
- Maintains worklogs and daily QC / maintenance.
- Troubleshoots procedures and instrumentation to minimize instrument downtime.
- Performs routine cytopathology screening (gyne and non-gyne) to support workload needs and turn-around-time targets.
- Manages staff resources in order to meet the needs of laboratory stakeholders.
- Monitors and maintains the cytopathology quality performance standards (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) and provides detailed statistics including but not limited to specimen adequacy, turnaround time, patient identification issues.
- Facilitates the completion of the diagnostic rescreen on at least 10% of slide volume.
- Ensures cytotechnologists due not exceed maximum allowable slide screening as dictated by regulatory bodies.
- Ensuring compliance with laboratory regulations and accreditation standards.
What's required:
- Bachelor's degree. Specify Degree(s): Chemical, physical, biological or clinical lab science or medical technology and cytopathology.
- 3-5 years of previous job-related experience in the designated specialty.
- Managerial Experience: 1+years preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Certified Cytotechnologist (ASCP)

Compensation:
$84,100- $134,659 annually
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
