About the Role
The role of Team Leader supports the Principal Manager Grants Administration by a team of Grants Officers in the delivery of high quality, client-focused services in accordance with Legal Aid NSW policy and budget requirements.
This role manages a team of six Grants Officers and is expected to have regular individual and team meetings. The role also has responsibility for taking escalated phone calls from clients, inhouse and private lawyers, and monitors a mailbox on a rotational basis responding to correspondence. The role determines applications for legal aid across a range of matters in family or criminal law, within Legal Aid NSW policies, guidelines and delegations. The Team Leader contributes to the development of systems and practices and manages the allocation of day-to-day operations.
About You
You are an experienced team leader with strong analytical skills and management skills to make sound, consistent decisions. You bring a proven ability to deliver high quality, client focused services.
You have experience leading and developing teams, setting clear expectations, and managing performance, with the ability to supervise up to six employees while balancing operational responsibilities.
You are a confident communicator who can effectively engage with stakeholders and handle complex or sensitive matters with professionalism.
You demonstrate integrity, accountability, and resilience, with the ability to manage competing priorities, contribute to continuous improvement, and support efficient, high quality service delivery.
Knowledge of grants administration and/or policy application is desirable.
