- Managing your own caseload of personal injury costs matters from start to finish
- Preparing Formal Bills of Costs, Statements of Costs (N260s), Estimates and Costs Budgets (Precedent H)
- Negotiating and settling costs claims to achieve the best possible recovery
- Drafting Replies to Points of Dispute and assisting with Detailed Assessment proceedings
- Advising fee earners on costs recovery prospects and strategy
- Preparing and coordinating assessment bundles and instructing advocates where required
- Attending Detailed Assessment and other costs-related hearings
- Maintaining accurate diary management and ensuring court deadlines are met
- Working collaboratively with fee earners and colleagues to maximise costs recovery across the firm
- Keeping up to date with developments in costs law, procedure and case law
More about you...
- Previous experience managing your own personal injury costs caseload
- Strong knowledge of Fast Track and Multi Track costs recovery processes
- Experience drafting Bills of Costs and conducting negotiations on costs matters
- Good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and costs-related case law
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A confident and effective negotiator
- Able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word
