Material Handler, Second Shift

Role Summary:

The Material Handler, Swing Shift supports our Cookeville valve and actuator plant by keeping finished products moving and ready for shipment. Working the 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. swing shift, you’ll help get completed valves out of production, packed correctly, and prepped for early‑morning trucks. This is a team‑oriented warehouse with a positive atmosphere and room to grow your career. Products can be heavy, and you will use hoists and other equipment to move them safely. You may also assist with unloading trucks, verifying paperwork, stocking materials, and operating a forklift.

Responsibilities:

• Move finished valves from production to shipping.

• Pack and prepare outgoing shipments to meet early‑morning truck deadlines.

• Verify incoming and outgoing materials and documentation.

• Load and unload trucks.

• Assist with stocking, pulling parts, and general warehouse tasks.

• Use hoist cranes and other equipment to move heavy products safely.

• Maintain accurate records in the ERP system.

• Support daily work cell needs and follow all safety requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling.

• Forklift experience required.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.

• Ability to adapt to different tasks and support the team as needed.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs; occasional team lifts over 100 lbs.

• Ability to work occasional overtime.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

• HS Diploma or GED.

• 5–7 years of relevant experience.

• Experience with heavy or industrial products.

• Familiarity with ERP or inventory systems.

• Proven reliability and strong attendance.

• Forklift certification.
