Dietary Aide – Full-Time
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour and up (based on experience)

General Purpose
The Dietary Aide supports daily food service operations based on the needs of each shift. This position reports directly to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and plays an essential role in meal preparation, sanitation, and kitchen organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Learn and follow food service routines within a short period of time
Set up and assemble meal trays
Breakdown returned trays and wash dishes
Assist with serving meals as needed
Operate the dishwasher safely and effectively
Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of each shift
Monitor dishwasher water temperatures throughout washing cycles
Prepare nourishments and snacks
Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators
Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen and dining area floors
Remove trash and garbage from kitchen areas
Store groceries in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at the end of each shift
Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor when requested
Participate in orientation and ongoing training
Work cooperatively and professionally with staff in all departments
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Language Skills
Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes
Ability to communicate effectively with managers and team members
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems
Ability to understand and follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
Certificates
Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate
Physical Demands
Frequent standing and walking
Occasional sitting
Frequent reaching, pushing, and pulling
Frequent talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus
