What You’ll Do
The Flight Follower/Dispatcher will be responsible for controlling all aircraft operations under direct authority of the Director of Operations to assure the highest level of efficiency, safety, and customer service. Reporting to the Director of Flight Following, they will exercise the functions of operational control of all flight operations and immediately advise the Director of Operations of any possible variances in the General Operations Manual, FAR’s or normal operations.
- Schedule, assign and control all aircraft utilization.
- Coordinate all maintenance discrepancies with Maintenance Department.
- Schedule crews to assure proper equipment coverage, utilization and time control within established policies and applicable regulations.
- Execute flight release and other flight documents as required with the pilot-in-command in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.
- Maintain constant vigilance of restrictive meteorological conditions as they apply to company operations and advise all departments of recommended course of action as conditions dictate.
- Track all aircraft and crew status.
- Report and record all irregularities, which involve safety or emergency measures as specified in the General Operations Manual.
- Render such action as necessary to assist the customer’s critical needs in accordance with existing policy and agreements.
- Collect, disseminate, and distribute through coordination channels all information regarding Operational Control concerns.
- Escalate operational issues to ensure expedited resolution of airline concerns.
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of all Operating Manuals and regulatory requirements pertinent to areas of responsibility and authority.
- Ensure regulatory procedures are in accordance with the General Operations Manual.
- Responsible to actively participate in USA Jet Safety Programs and SMS. Required to report all safety concerns in a timely manner. Required to ensure that they and their co-workers are performing their functions in the safest possible manner. Required to follow the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration with legal authority at the location at which they are working

What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- FAR 121 Dispatch Certificate is preferred
- Experience in both 135 and 121 flight following departments is preferred
- Must maintain a valid passport (U.S. or other nation).
- Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements is preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to type a minimum of 30 w.p.m.
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues creatively
- Must have a strong sense of urgency to time-sensitive situations
- Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions
- Computer software knowledge of key Microsoft Office platforms including Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
- Knowledge of the locations, and airports, of the United States, Canadian Provinces, and regions of Mexico.
- Successful candidates must satisfactorily complete the training, currency, and testing requirements defined in the USA Jet Flight Operations Training Manual.
- Successful candidates must pass an initial, and random, Drug and Alcohol screening process as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and a fingerprint based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and/or Security Threat Assessment (STA) as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
