What We Offer
The role of Production Engineer has accountability for the safe and reliable daily operation in the PMPO production units located at the South Charleston site.
Major Responsibilities
Manage working instructions for the hourly technicians and day-to-day problem solving of production issues
Identify and prioritize maintenance needs into the unit and coordinate preparation of equipment with these maintenance activities including developing tiered work plans for line and equipment opening jobs
Plan, coordinate, and control raw materials, supplies and services
Ensure safety concept of the unit is maintained/improved
Administer unit MoC program
Accountable for development and annual review of Unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), training plans, and certification and re-certification materials for assigned unit and ensure 100% attendance for all mandatory training.
Establish training plans and deliver unit specific training for unit technicians as needed
Comply with plant procedures, Safety and Environmental requirements, operability, quality (OEE), rates and production schedule
Report and investigate incidents within the unit
Coordinate unit projects and process optimization studies as directed by unit Process Engineers and other technical staff
Manage waste (hazardous and nonhazardous) as required by operating/company procedures or site practices
Accountable for unit performance goals, expense budget spending, inventory management, and compliance with the labor agreement
Participate in continuous improvement programs and cross-functional teams.
What You Offer
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years of related experience
Broad knowledge of rotating and static equipment through experience, expert training and self-study
Knowledge & Skills:
High level of organizational and process management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to apply rigorous logic
Strong understanding of unit operation principles.
Ability to advise and influence business units' technical and compliance decisions
Ability to manage resources to meet the business goals of the unit i.e. overtime, operating supplies, Maintenance priorities, OEE, etc.
Ability to deliver unit specific training and train others at entry level
Ability to motivate, lead and discipline employees and resolve conflicts within area of responsibility
Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot processes, develop solutions for defined problems, and handles complex problems independently
Demonstrated commitment to promoting a safe work environment
Capability of passing position certification requirements
Ability to share weekend, holiday, and back shift on-call coverage
