Summary of Primary Purpose of the Position

Under direct supervision, the Material Handler 1 operates forklifts or other mobile equipment to perform routine moving, staging, loading or unloading of materials, supplies or products within or near plant, yard, warehouse or work site.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities *
In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies, and contributing to the company’s Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment, the following briefly describes the 3 to 6 primary activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed, and the approximate percentage of time annually devoted to each (equals 100%).
Percent
Transports raw materials, supplies, products and/or finished goods to and from storage or production lines and places them in designated area

Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities

Completes all necessary paperwork and transactions, including scanning requirements

Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned

Minimum:
High School diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level
Preferred:
3+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing or shipping environment

Ability to distinguish sounds is required for safety purposes. Being hearing impaired may be life threatening in the environment.
