Histology technologist
Part-time, evening shift
Position Purpose:
Histology Technician provides the technical component for anatomical pathology (surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
· Education: High school graduate or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required or Bachelors Degree.
· Licensure / Certification: Histology Technician, HT (ASCP) certificate or HT (ASCP) eligible preferred. American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Histology Technician (HT)certified or eligible, and HLT certified or eligible.
· Experience: Previous histology experience or one year formal training will be considered.
· Effective Communication Skills
· Manual dexterity absolutely necessary, as well as ability to lift supplies.
· Must possess basic computer knowledge
· Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed
· Ability to utilize different histology instrumentation including maintenance and troubleshooting
· Ability to respond to change
· Ability to work independently
· Prefer some Immunohistochemistry experience
