The Opportunity

Our Lysaght business is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Team based in Townsville. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects.

In this hands-on, business critical role, you will be supporting the maintenance of our machinery, so that we can continue manufacturing our world class products and solutions for our valued customers. You’ll be based at our Townsville site as well as the opportunity to manage projects across other branches within the region. Travel is required to manage maintenance of other regional QLD/NT sites. 

This position is overtime eligible.

What Will You Do?

In a role that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will be the first and main point of contact when it comes to equipment and maintenance. You will:

• provide maintenance of all mechanical plant equipment including rotating machinery and materials handling equipment
• undertake welding and fabrication tasks as part of day-to-day maintenance activities, including repairs, modifications, and fabrication of components to support safe and reliable plant operation
• maintain formal maintenance, change management, down time, and quality records in accordance with company requirements and procedures
• continuous improvement of maintenance plans and systems by assisting in the improvement of maintenance schedules
• inspect quality critical equipment and fault finding
• work with our operations team to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are identified and introduced wherever practicable.
