Join our Technology Team and advance your career as an IT Support Analyst – Energy Trading
As a support analyst in a support‑critical domain, you will balance proactive operational excellence (runbooks, resilience, monitoring/triage, operational integrity) with structured analysis and delivery (change impact analysis, process improvement, requirements capture, backlog elaboration, and functional testing), working closely with business users, BAs, software engineers, UX designers, and partner teams. You will embrace a culture of change and agility, operate effectively across organizational boundaries, and apply sound judgement to prioritize and deliver outcomes in a fast‑moving trading environment.
In this role You will:
Ensure the operational stability and integrity of systems, aligning with architectural standards, security requirements, and organizational policies
Create and maintain runbooks, operating procedures, and system architecture documentation
Conduct impact analysis for changes, and continuously see opportunities for process improvement and optimization
Collaborate with team members to gather business requirements and translate them into a well-defined product backlog
Refine and prioritize backlog items to ensure they are ready for delivery
Support end-to-end project delivery, including progress tracking, reporting, and risk management
Perform functional testing to ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards
Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies where relevant to drive efficient delivery
Develop and deliver training materials and knowledge transfer sessions for interested parties on new processes and system functionalities
Work closely within multi-functional teams (including Software Engineers, Technology Engineers, Designers, SecOps, and Product Owners) to deliver impactful solutions
What You will need to be successful:
Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a relevant field such as Energy Trading, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or similar
Proven, hands-on experience in supporting applications, with a strong track record in problem-solving
Experience working closely with business users in trading or financial environments, translating their needs into practical system solutions
Solid understanding of at least one area within Front, Middle, or Back Office / Operations
Experience collaborating with 2nd and 3rd line support teams to resolve issues efficiently and within agreed timelines
Exposure to global markets, ideally within physical commodities or trading environments
Good communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence business partners
Experience working in hybrid, multi-functional teams (internal and external resources)
Familiarity with Agile ways of working, including Scrum, and tools such as Azure DevOps (or similar)
Desirable Criteria:
Experience working in at least one area of Front/Mid/Back office
Experience working on European gas and power traded market
Experience with trade lifecycle & risk management
Working with solution architecture to ensure an end-to-end application landscape which meets business requirements
SQL Server data skills (writing basic SQL queries)
