Department: Product ManagementLocation: Hybrid (Regular on-site presence required; travel as needed)Employment Type: Full-time
Position Summary
The Product Specialist supports the execution, optimization, and day-to-day product management operations for assigned Outdoor Power Equipment product lines, with a strong emphasis on retail execution, product data accuracy, and cross-functional coordination. This hands-on role will work closely with Product Line Management to execute strategic initiatives as well as Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and external retail partners to ensure products are accurately specified and effectively merchandised.
The role blends tactical product management, retail merchandising support, and product data governance, ensuring successful product lifecycle execution from sourcing and launch through retail execution and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
Product Line & Lifecycle Support
Support the development, execution, and lifecycle management of assigned product lines
Assist in evaluating new product opportunities, line extensions, and assortment changes
Execute tactical initiatives as directed by the Product Line Manager
Support product change requests, product cost analysis, and margin maintenance
Product Data, Specifications & Systems
Maintain accurate and complete product data in ERP, PIM, and related systems
Create, review, audit, and update product specifications, documentation, packaging, labeling, and technical content
Ensure data consistency across all systems and sales channels
Identify and resolve discrepancies through cross-functional collaboration
Retail Merchandising & Execution
Develop, maintain, and update planograms aligned with merchandising strategy and retail constraints
Support visual merchandising standards and ensure consistent in-store execution
Conduct retail audits and reviews to verify correct product setup and presentation
Analyze merchandising and product performance; provide insights and improvement recommendations
Support retail partners and internal teams with product information and documentation
Product Launch & Market Support
Execute product launch plans, schedules, and milestone tracking
Coordinate product photography, content creation, and technical documentation
Support the development of training materials for sales, marketing, and retail teams
Collect and organize Voice-of-Customer (VOC) data
Conduct preliminary market research and competitive analysis; maintain competitive intelligence
Cross-Functional & Operational Support
Serve as a day-to-day liaison with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service
Coordinate sample evaluations, testing, and quality documentation
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for product, retail, and data processes
Support inventory planning, forecasting, and product change processes
Support customer service with technical product guidance and issue resolution
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
Mechanical or technical aptitude; experience with OPE, Power Sports, Marine, Automotive, or replacement parts preferred
Experience in product or technical support, product data management, merchandising, or related role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP and PIM systems required
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and audit complex item specifications

Travel & Work Environment
Hybrid role with a combination of on-site and remote work
Regular on-site presence required at the Portland, TN facility to support product reviews, planogram maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration
Occasional travel may be required
