Job Description
The R&D Clinical Research Team is seeking a highly motivated Veterinary Clinical Research Manager with interest and experience in oncology research in companion animals. The successful candidate will be energetic, inquisitive, and excel in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment. Key responsibilities of the position include initiating oncology-focused studies for sample collection and new marker evaluation, completing medical and scientific review of biomarker testing results, supporting diagnostic algorithm development, and engaging in Clinical Research collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders to demonstrate clinical utility of novel oncology diagnostics.
This is an on-site role to be based out of our Westbrook, ME corporate Headquarters.
What you will do:
Perform a variety of Clinical Research activities involving critical thinking, study planning, execution, medical review, analysis and study reporting to support the R&D Clinical Research Team.
Utilize data, metrics and system tools to understand clinical utility and to enhance customer experience.
Provide onsite supervision and support for Clinical Research Team members.
Establish and approve scientific methods and protocols needed for external collaborative research studies.
Work accurately and efficiently with careful attention to detail, appropriate documentation, and clear communication.
Develop business acumen through internal and external networking to understand level of published evidence needed for successful product launch.
Stay current with new oncology and technology developments.
May manage staff, assign work and evaluate results.
Collaborate and communicate with colleagues inside and outside of R&D to provide work support, exchange information and ensure efficient processes.
Maintain knowledge of products and procedures, developments in the field and industry and regulatory environment.
Adhere to appropriate procedures and regulatory requirements.
May participate in conferences, webinars and seminars to continue to develop knowledge base and build Key Opinion Leader network.
What you need to succeed:
DVM/PhD or equivalent combination of medical and scientific training, with expertise in companion animals.
Prior clinical research experience and track record of peer-reviewed publications preferred.
Prior industry experience preferred.
Accountable, detail-oriented, and flexible.
Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize, and handle the stress of multiple deadlines.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels across the business and serve as an external spokesperson for the organization.
Ability to work onsite and cooperatively as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
Ability to oversee development of laboratory bench and instrumentation skills.
Ability to handle veterinary and human clinical research samples.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Organizational skills and ability to plan work.
