
Trail Crew (Summer Seasonal, Part-Time)
Job Description
Brighton Resort is looking for hardworking, outdoorsy people to join our Trail Crew team! Trail Crew members play a direct role in preparing the mountain for winter, doing the hands-on work that makes the ski season possible for every guest at Brighton.
Trail Crew is a temporary, paid volunteer position. Members earn hourly pay, but the primary benefit is a 2026-27 Brighton season pass. It is not a full-time or ongoing job. The commitment is 10 full days (10 hours per day) over the summer season, with shifts typically starting in early July.
If you enjoy working outdoors, do not mind getting your hands dirty, and want to earn your season pass by contributing to the mountain that we all love it, we would love to have you on the crew.

Work Commitment
Trail Crew members commit to a minimum of 10 full days (8-10 hours per day) completed over the course of the summer. Most members finish their days within about a month, but the schedule is flexible. Shifts run Monday through Friday and are assigned through our scheduling app on a first-come, first-served basis. This role is designed for candidates balancing other jobs, school, or other commitments.
Responsibilities
As a member of Trail Crew you will contribute to Brighton's LEADS values by:
- Prioritize Safety by:
- Using assigned tools safely and responsibly, staying alert to hazards in steep and uneven terrain, and following all safety procedures.
- Serve First by:
- Looking out for your teammates, communicating clearly on site, and stepping in wherever the crew needs support.
- Show that Attitude is Everything by:
- Staying positive and productive in variable mountain weather and physically demanding conditions, and bringing consistent effort across back-to-back shift day
- Deliver Excellence in Execution by:
- Maintaining ski terrain and resort grounds through brush cutting, raking, digging, slope stabilization, and debris removal so guests arrive to the best possible mountain come winter.
- Using hand tools and chainsaws safely and responsibly, working efficiently across steep and uneven terrain at elevation, and keeping trucks, tools, and shared work areas clean and organized at the end of every shift.
- Assisting with other Mountain Operations projects as assigned.
- Think Long Term by:
- Contributing to erosion control and terrain prep work that protects the mountain and supports reliable operations season after season.
- Communicating observations about recurring conditions or terrain concerns to your supervisor
- Develop Great People by:
- Sharing knowledge openly with teammates and contributing to a crew culture where everyone gets better together.
Qualifications
This position may be a good fit if you:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have a background in landscaping, wildland firefighting, trail maintenance, or similar outdoor labor
- Are physically fit and able to carry, push, & pull 50 lbs
- Are confident hiking long distances over rugged terrain
- Are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Can work independently and as part of a small team with limited supervision
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Can reliably get to and from Brighton Resort in various weather conditions
Preferred:
- Experience operating a chainsaw
- Prior experience working at elevation or in remote outdoor environments
This position may be a good fit if you:
