Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Industrialization Lead, the Mechanical Designer will be responsible for bringing customer orders into production, improving existing products, and supporting cost-reduction initiatives.
Main responsibilities include:
• Create manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings.
• Work with the ERP system and create product Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Maintain and manage BOM structures.
• Design sheet metal parts, cast aluminum components, and welded assemblies.
• Develop 3D models and technical designs.
• Develop production work tools such as templates and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, and other applicable standards.
• Provide technical support to production teams.
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience with a D.E.C. in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent training required.
• Relevant experience in mechanical engineering drawing preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.
• Knowledge of Adobe software and Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Ability to visualize and model in 3D required.
