Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

The Software Support Consultant is a senior individual contributor within Software Support (SWS) who serves as the primary local point of contact for the India-based SWS resources and a trusted delegate for the SWS leadership team. This role provides operational leadership for the India SWS Center of Excellence (CoE), including second-level customer escalations, region-wide CAP escalation support across products, team operational administration, and local representation. The role drives employee engagement, continuous improvement, and AI adoption activities for the India CoE, and acts as a liaison for business intelligence (BI) reporting queries in partnership with the BI/reporting team. This role does not have direct reports, but it carries clear leadership expectations through influence, coaching, operational ownership, and local advocacy.

Responsibilities

Operational leadership (India SWS CoE)

  • Operate with minimal management guidance; be decisive and execution focused.
  • Actively contribute to overall team success by achieving team objectives and KPIs.
  • Monitor operational health indicators (backlog, aging, critical incident handling) and support the team in overcoming incident lifecycle challenges.
  • Ensure progress is being made on open incidents by all team members (follow-up, unblocking, prioritization).
  • Serve as the local SWS representative in India and represent Support Management locally.
  • Work with the leadership team on targeted special projects (for example: employee engagement, continuous improvement).
  • Maintain mandatory compliance with NCR Atleos Code of Conduct, Shared Values, and Security Awareness requirements.
  • Help resolve roadblocks in maintaining the customer environment within the NCR Atleos SWS Azure lab to enable troubleshooting and validation.
  • Represent SWS in solution assurance calls, ensuring support readiness and risk awareness.

Technical Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of ATMS and how they operate.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL / PLSQL.
  • Knowledge of Java technologies.
  • Customer support experience.
  • A broad understanding of technology – both infrastructure and application.
  • Incident management discipline.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in a discipline related to the product technology - usually electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or computer science.
  • Minimum of 9 years software related job experience (support/development).
