WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Operations and Gateways area of DHL Express Mexico is looking for a Gateway Director.
JOB PURPOSE
Lead Gateway operations to ensure business growth, profitability, service excellence, operational continuity, and compliance with customs and international trade regulations, while aligning execution with DHL’s global network strategy.
YOUR TASKS
Develop and execute strategies that drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency of the international Gateway business.
Ensure Gateway operations are aligned with DHL’s international network, global standards, service commitments, and connectivity requirements.
Manage the financial performance of the business unit, ensuring achievement of revenue, budget, cost control, and margin targets.
Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, foreign trade requirements, bonded facility obligations, safety standards, GSOP, and applicable government regulations.
Represent DHL before customs authorities, government agencies, and regulatory bodies to ensure operational continuity and mitigate business risks.
Lead the implementation of regulatory changes and compliance requirements, including USMCA/T-MEC, Foreign Trade Regulations, Customs Electronic Systems, and internal compliance programs.
Anticipate, assess, and manage operational, regulatory, and network risks that may impact service continuity, shipment flow, or revenue generation.
Ensure strong control of international logistics costs, productivity, capacity utilization, and service performance.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, business partners, authorities, and internal stakeholders to strengthen operations and customer experience.
Promote a strong culture of Safety, Compliance, Quality, and As One collaboration across the organization.
Lead, develop, and coach high-performing teams through effective talent management, succession planning, and organizational development.
Ensure shipment visibility, traceability, and operational excellence across international
PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in international business, International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Law, or related field.
5+ years of experience in international logistics, customs, foreign trade, or Gateway operations.
3+ years in a senior leadership role.
The person needs to travel more than 60% of the time.Technical Skills
