Pay Rate: $70,000 - $80,000/yr DOE

 


About the Role 

The Heavy Equipment Supervisor supervises heavy equipment operator personnel performing equipment operations, and road maintenance and support at Fort Carson.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervises the operations of heavy equipment or specialized function; plans, lays out, assigns, and supervises the work of operators, truck drivers, general maintenance workers and laborers.
  • Plans and schedules all shop maintenance requests.
  • Determines priorities, personnel, and equipment and materials and supplies and ensure compliance with safety program.
  • Assists and trains less experienced operators and maintains performance and operation records.
  • Ensures that all applicable Environmental Protection Agency guidelines are met.
  • Inspects work performed by equipment operations workers to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Checks daily time sheets and cost accounting data.
  • Maintains accurate work records and related documents.
  • Writes accurate and complete work reports for management use.
  • Resolves operational problems.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What We're Looking For

  • High School education or equivalent education in the field or trade school completion may be substituted on a year for year basis for experience.
  • Five years of skilled experience in the heavy equipment operations, including five years of supervisory experience. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • CDL Class A required. 
  • Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
  • Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, bending, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to frequently bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts during weather events to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.   

 

US Pay Range
$70,000$80,000 USD
