About the Role
To lead financial analysis, valuation, pricing, and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely actuarial outputs that support business decisions and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing and mentoring the actuarial team, providing technical guidance, and contributing to strategic initiatives while meeting regulatory and group requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, solid actuarial expertise, and proven leadership experience.Roles and Responsibilities:
Valuation and Financial Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual actuarial valuation.
- Review reserves and liability calculations.
- Present financial results and key drivers to management.
- Lead audit and regulator engagements.
Business Planning and Forecasting
- Lead the business projections of financial results for business planning, stress testing and capital management exercises.
- Collaboration with Finance, and Channel teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and methodologies.
Experience Study
- Review experience study results.
- Recommend actuarial assumptions to management
- Monitor emerging risks and business trends.
Product Pricing and Profitability Analysis
- Lead pricing exercises or product revision by reviewing the pricing model.
- Review profitability, value metrics and ability to propose product design.
- Review pricing documentation and ensure compliance with internal governance, actuarial standard and regulation requirements.
Reinsurance
- Lead treaty negotiations, renewals and relationship management with reinsurance to ensure adequate risk protection, cost efficiency and align with the Company’s strategic objectives.
- Evaluate, design, and optimize reinsurance structures by assessing risk exposure, capital requirements and profitability.
- Monitor reinsurance experience, recoveries and provide recommendations to enhance portfolio performance.
Process Improvement & Model Development
- Lead prophet implementation, model enhancements projects.
- Support streamline reporting data flow and automate reports to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Review model control, audit exercises where applicable.
Capital, Risk Management and Compliance
- Review solvency results, stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Ensure all actuarial processes compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, actuarial standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Lead the internal audit and review of audits requirements.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as underwriting, marketing, and product development, reinsurance to support business initiatives.
- Present analytical results and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with external partners, including reinsurers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a Economics related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the actuarial field.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, insurance products, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in actuarial software and advanced Excel modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong leadership skill in managing actuarial staff.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
