Job Description

 

This position is responsible for assisting in repairs, maintenance of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems throughout the entire plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs size changes on all production lines.
  • Executes the preventive maintenance program schedule to avert production and equipment failures and downtime.
  • Performs troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoots AC/DC electrical circuits.
  • Troubleshoots single phase and 3-phase power.
  • Read and interpret hard wire schematics.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Troubleshoot PLC's.
  • Assist in the training of the Electrical Mechanic in Training.
  • Perform and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to successfully complete electrical apprenticeship for LME license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Vocational/Technical certificate or A.A Degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

SAFETY/TOTAL HOUSEKEEPING MANAGEMENT (THM)

Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Maintain their designated work spaces in a clean, safe and timely manner in compliance with the plants THM/Safety policy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is in an plant environment where the employee will occasionally be exposed to year round weather conditions, fumes and/or airborne particles. The employee will on occasion be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, and vibration. The noise level in the plant are usually loud, proper personal protective equipment will be worn in given plant areas and when essential job function necessitate.
