Position Purpose:
Maintains, installs, and repairs electrical equipment, and provides for the reliable and safe operation of the hospital electrical distribution system and emergency power generators.
Hours: Full time, variable shifts, 40 hour per pay period
Shift: Day Shift
What You’ll Do
Install, maintain, and repair electrical and low-voltage systems
- Review blueprints and ensure work meets design and safety standards
- Manage permits, inspections, and documentation for projects and repairs
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair generators, transfer switches, and distribution systems
- Diagnose issues using electrical, mechanical, and related systems knowledge
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work
- Track work orders and maintenance activities accurately
- Order parts and maintain inventory as needed
- Support a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to process improvements
Minimum qualifications:
Michigan Master Electrician License (required)
High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s preferred)
3+ years of electrician experience in a healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, emergency power, and codes
Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics
Skilled with tools, testing equipment, and documentation
