Custodian Nights (2:00 PM - 7:30 PM)

The Amherst School District is seeking qualified candidates for their custodial staff.  The technician performs routine building maintenance and repairs as requested and scheduled by the Facility Manager or Head Technician, including all housekeeping duties. The Technician will follow written or verbal work instructions and schedules, operate assorted power machines, such as but not limited to, scrubbing/buffing machines, wet/dry vacuums, rug shampoo machines, steam cleaner, lawn mowing equipment, tractors, snow removal etc. He will also perform various tasks as requested by the Principal, and other school personnel in support of instructional and event needs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine building custodial duties as scheduled by the facility manager.

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs as scheduled by the facility manager.
- Follow written work schedule.
- Operate assorted power machines, such as but not limited to, scrubbing/buffing machines, wet/dry vacuums, rug shampoo machines, steam
cleaner, lawn mowing equipment, etc.
- Perform various tasks requested by facility manager, principal, and school personnel.
- Fulfill requests specified on work orders unless requests contradict existing school rules.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.  Prior custodial experience.
2.  Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
3.  Organized, efficient, and reliable.
4.  Good communication skills.
5.  Works well independently and as part of a team.
6.  Able to handle pressure and deadlines, welcomes challenges, and must be able to multi task and think well on his/her feet.
7.  High School Diploma or GED

Note:  This temporary position may be required to work in all the buildings in the Amherst School District
