Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Mine Production Superintendent is responsible for managing the company's production processes, ensuring the implementation of plans that maximize information management and timely decision-making in the pursuit of maximizing value addition sustainably and at the lowest cost.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the integrated planning process connecting the different stakeholders to ensure the complete chain of value main variables in the production commitments
- Manage the copper production processes planning, ensuring the implementation of plans that allow maximizing information management and timely decision-making in the search to maximize value addition
- Enhance integrated process across the productions areas to ensure the correct decision when deviations are arising.
- Develop the Integrated Center of operation project and implement it during the following year.
- Lead the budgeting process, being one source of true interacting with finances and commercial area.
- Consolidate EOM result including mine production, metallurgical balances, sand production and water balance.
- Lead and ensure the sustainability of the Management Operational System (MOS) for the integrated planning and Mine ops systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with the production plan using correct reconciliation tools across the complete chain of value
- Develop clear plan to move strategic and growing project into the mine planning cycle as 5 year plan with clear milestone according the mine planning cycle.
- Actively participate in BPD preparation each Month.
- Ensure the integration of information on the company's production processes (single data).
- Ensure the delivery of robust and quality information to support production decision-making.
- Maximize mineral recovery and processing (TPH) through the correct operation of the mine to mill task force, ensuring the sustainability of the business.
- Ensure the technological resources for the transmission of information (production and mine to mill data) to the different productivity areas.
- Ensure the design, implementation and compliance with the area's budget.
- Manage the implementation of continuous improvement processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
- Mine Engineer with 10 year of experience in open pit mine and Integrated planning process.
- Experience with mine planning cycle, including R&R statement and financial indicator for budgeting and cost estimation.
- Experience with SAP or similar purchasing program.
- Prior exposure to mine planning software (Vulcan, MineSight, Terrain, AcQuire) is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong project management skills required.
- Quick learner with proactive mindset.
- Proven ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.
Knowledge:
- Occupational health and safety management systems (risk exposure management and elimination, fatality control).
- Strong knowledge in Mine Planning and integrated initiatives
- Strong knowledge in strategic and long-term planning.
- Strong understanding about capital expenditure criteria, including deferred striping and waste development in the mine.
- Management and development of work teams.
- Third party management and contract administration.
- Integrated mine to mill processes (blasting, grinding, particle size distribution, effective performance of loading and grinding equipment).
- Analysis and interpretation of production KPIs.
- Time usage models of all production processes at the site (utilization, effective performance).
- Database analysis (PI system).
- Control algorithms and real-time monitoring systems.
- Quality information management of block models.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
30% of this position time will be spent in the field while the remaining 70% will be spent in an office environment.
All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check.
