Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
- Responsible for logistics procurement, ensuring that Vertiv is competitive in the market, with best prices, conditions, and quality, by negotiating with current suppliers and developing new ones.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate with local and international suppliers to ensure the best conditions to Vertiv.
- Handle high level of complexity and impact negotiations.
- Responsible for procurement for Latin America region.
- Develop new suppliers locally and internationally, based on Procurement, Quality and EHS premises.
- Manage supplier performance and act on actions plans to recover performance when needed.
- Formalize and sign agreements with suppliers to mitigate legal risks to the company.
- Follow-up with market trend, analyzing data regarding commodity prices, inflation, and other market indicators to guide the procurement negotiation.
- Alignment with Regional and Global procurement.
- Work along with Logistics and Engineering to develop the best strategy in terms of costs for the company.
- Maintain ERP updated with latest terms negotiated with suppliers.
- Generate reports to support management decisions.
- Support to other buyers in the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Minimum number of 4+ years of experience in Logistics Procurement field.
- English speaking (fluent level)
- Knowledge in ERP Systems
- Excel intermediate level (data analysis, pivot table)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six+ (6+) years of experience in procurement in International Logistics
- Knowledge in Oracle or SAP ERP
- English speaking (fluent level)
- Spanish speaking (intermediate level)
- Excel advanced level (data analysis, pivot table, macros and VBA)
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field preferred (or equivalent of education and experience) – Business Administration, Foreign Trade.
