The Women's Specialty Clinic is now hiring for a dedicated and highly detail-oriented part-time Medical Assistant!

Position Summary & Highlights

  • This MA position will support our physician and provider team and will work in both areas of the clinic, breast reconstruction and gynecology oncology.

  • Our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Linsey Etherington, MD,  offers a number of different types of reconstructive surgeries that can help improve the problem, whatever it may be, offering a wide range of services including: Breast surgery and breast reconstruction, Facial reconstruction, Trunk and extremity reconstruction, Wound healing, and Flap surgery.

  • We are fortunate to have Patrick Connor, MD, a highly-skilled board-certified Gynecologic Oncologist, and Polina Kokoulina, PA, who are committed to the comprehensive treatment of women with benign gynecologic conditions and gynecologic cancers. 

  • They understand the impact of cancer and its treatments on all aspects of women’s lives including future childbearing, sexuality, physical and emotional well-being—and the affect cancer can have on the patient’s whole family.

  • We offer patients access to clinical trials, genetic counseling and cancer risk assessments. Additionally, there are specialized programs for cancer patients to help reduce fatigue and improve well-being following cancer treatments.

What You Will Do:

  • In addition to typical MA duties, you will assist with minor procedures, POCT testing, perform phlebotomy, and also support surgery scheduling which includes coordinating with the Breast Care clinic and Cancer Institute.

  • You will also have the opportunity to support the providers in Oncology Genecology.

  • An ideal candidate for this position is flexible and adaptable, enjoys learning, is proactive, and team-oriented-always willing to help.

  • You also enjoy developing rapport with patients and staff, are dedicated, personable, and have a high attention to detail!

Work Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week, primarily working on Mondays and Fridays, which some hours on Thursdays, around the clinic operating hours.

  • The clinic ideally would like some flexibility with the work days for PTO and other coverage needs.

  • Hours are flexed around outreach needs.

Locations:

  • Boise Clinic: 900 N Liberty St. Ste. 101, Boise, Idaho 83704, on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus.

  • Outreach clinics are every Friday and physicians/providers rotate seeing patients at the clinics in Nampa, Caldwell, Ontario and Baker City, so occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

    • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

    • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

  • New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
