BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST – HR CONSULTING
New Opportunity in Mercer’s Commercial Acceleration Team (CAT) on Milan office.
About the role:
The Business Development Specialist will support Mercer’s Commercial Acceleration Team (CAT) in business development and account management activities. This role involves identifying prospective clients and proposing solutions within Mercer’s Career business offering, with a particular focus on Workforce & Organization Transformation, Rewards, Digital Transformation, Talent Strategy, and Change Management.
Key responsibilities:
Develop new business opportunities for Mercer in collaboration with Marsh Group’s other businesses;
Identify and engage prospective clients through a variety of channels and methods, including cold calls, email campaigns, networking events, referrals, and marketing leads;
Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to the development and delivery of sales campaigns; prepare commercial proposals for both standard and more complex, innovative solutions; develop RFP presentations and responses that address the complex needs of HR functions and organizations across small and large client accounts;
Contribute to sales targets by building and maintaining a strong client portfolio and conducting regular sales and account management meetings, in collaboration with Mercer Career Practices and colleagues from Marsh Risk and Marsh Jointly, to identify and meet client needs;
Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with prospects based on guidelines provided by the Chief Commercial Officer, and support the Leadership Team and colleagues in commercial effectiveness, including sales cycle process and tools, reporting, and hands-on support where needed;
Stay up to date on HR and organizational trends and represent Mercer – and Marsh Group more broadly – at events and conferences, helping to expand your professional network.
Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Economics/Management or similar;
an at least 2/4 years in a client-facing roles;
curiosity for commercial topics and content;
a strong commercial mindset combined with a passion for HR Consulting and Organization;
strong interpersonal and communication skills;
a high level of resilience, with the ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks through a systematic and pragmatic approach;
fluency in written and spoken Italian and English;
ability to work independently and within a team-based environment.
