
Product Specialist Own Brand

Some of what you will do:
The Product Specialist - Own Brand is an execution‑focused role that supports the Product Manager in the development, launch, and ongoing management of Own Brand products. The role plays a key part in advancing products from concept to shelf, while also helping shape the tracking, documentation, and reporting processes that will support the continued growth of the Own Brands portfolio.
This role offers an opportunity to join the Own Brands team at a formative and exciting stage, as the team works to expand and reinvent its brands. The Product Specialist partners closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure products meet Own Brands guidelines for Staples Canada, within a highly collaborative environment that values mentorship, shared ownership, and active involvement in how the team operates and grows.
Specifically, You Will:
- Drive Own Brand products from concept to shelf by coordinating product development milestones, approvals, and cross functional timelines in partnership with Product Managers.
- Act as the central point of coordination between vendors and internal teams, managing samples, specifications, onboarding, and documentation to ensure on time, high quality launches.
- Own launch readiness and execution tracking, building and maintaining dashboards and trackers to monitor progress, risks, approvals, and post launch performance.
- Analyze sales, market, and portfolio performance to generate insights that support line reviews, portfolio decisions, and leadership presentations.
- Support portfolio growth and optimization through competitive market analysis and ongoing lifecycle management of Own Brand products.
- Help shape and improve how the Own Brands team works, by creating and maintaining SOPs and contributing to scalable processes as the portfolio grows.
Some of what you need:
- Highschool education required, post-secondary education a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills required: written, verbal, formal presentation creation, email professionalism.
- Able to pull and organize sales data to report back on root causes of financial analysis.
- Experience writing detailed documents and organizing master data into efficient housing systems.
- Previous experience monitoring packaging and QA reports a bonus.
- Relatable experience in a similar role or field.
